Located in the vicinity of 7th Avenue & Lincoln Boulevard, San Francisco, near the south border of the Park

These are open fields which overlap. Big Rec Graham is on the left (west) and Big Rec Nealon is on the right (east).

 

Parking is not allowed in the areas near the diamonds.  Equipment can be hauled in on the service road at the corner of Martin Luther King and 9th Avenue, drive very carefully since there may be small fries around. After dropping off equipment, return the vehicle to the public streets for legal parking.

 

Fog is known to blow in.

Directions from the east:

Golden Gate Park is about 90 miles southwest of downtown Sacramento:

Take I-80 west all the way down and across the Bay Bridge. Take the Ninth Street/Civic Center exit off the right side of the freeway. Bear left onto Harrison Steet, to 9th Street, right on 9th Street all the way past Market St. to Hayes Street. Merge left onto Hayes, cross Van Ness, to Gough Street, left on Gough for a block, then right on Fell. Take Fell all the way to the entrance to Golden Gate Park (the Panhandle is on the left). Bear to the left onto Kezar Drive, which merges onto Lincoln Boulevard on the south border of Golden Gate Park. Make a right into the park at 7th Avenue & Lincoln.   Map

 

Directions from the north:

Golden Gate Park is about 40 miles south of Petaluma.

Take 101 south across the Golden Gate Bridge. Upon paying the $5 toll, bear far to the right and exit onto the one lane to Park Presidio Boulevard (Highway 1 south, 19th Avenue, Golden Gate Park). Cross all the way through Golden Gate Park.

 

You cannot make a left onto Martin Luther King Drive inside the south border of the Park. So you need to loop around: Make a right onto Lincoln Boulevard (along the south border of the Park), an immediate left onto 20th Avenue, left at Irving, left at 19th Avenue, continue into the Park, immediate right onto Martin Luther King, all the way toward 9th Avenue.    Map

 

Directions from the south:

Golden Gate Park is about 54 miles north of downtown San Jose.

Go north on 280. Or get on 101 north and cross over in San Bruno from 101 to 380 and then north on 280.

Bear to the left as you approach San Francisco, and follow the 19th Avenue split. Be careful - Follow the sign that says 19th Avenue/Golden Gate Bridge, indicating Highway 1. Continue off the freeway onto 19th Avenue, all the way north into the entrance of Golden Gate Park. Once in the Park, make an immediate right onto Martin Luther King Drive, all the way toward 9th Avenue.   Map
