Pre-Season Trip to  The Great Wasteland

for games against Tinseltown Terror & other SPBL teams

Los Angeles, CA 90035, off of I-10 near Culver City. Phone (310) 559-9782. Hardball and softball batting cage time for a group costs only $8 for 15 minutes. Such a deal! The instruction is provided by ex-professionals.
 

Directions:

Summary: 420+ miles (6+ hours)
1. Head east on the Bay Bridge (I-80), stay middle-right onto I-580 [MacArthur Freeway] through Oakland & Hayward toward Stockton.

2. Past Livermore (about 60miles from San Francisco), I-580 bends south and merges onto I-5 South toward LA. (Do not take 205.)
 

3. Continue on I-5 past the Grapevine into the San Fernando Valley. You can  stay on I-5 (Santa Ana Freeway) all the way to Highway 55 past Santa Ana,  take Highway 55 (Costa Mesa Freeway) South toward Newport Beach.

Alternate route: cut down to I-405 (San Diego Freeway).

If you run into traffic problems later on I-5, you can also cut down to I-405 using I-110, I-710, or I-605.

Once on I-405, take Highway 73 (San Joaquin Trans Corridor) to Highway 55 (Costa Mesa Freeway) South toward Newport Beach.

4. When traveling south on the 55 Freeway exit Victoria/22nd off ramp. This off ramp will put you on Newport Blvd. DO NOT MAKE ANY TURNS. Continue straight on Newport Blvd. and the Travelodge Costa Mesa/Newport Beach will be on the right at the end of the freeway between Bay and 19th Street. We are located one block north of Triangle Square/Nike Town. Remember, once you take the Victoria St. exit you will be on Newport Blvd. Do not make any turns, stay on Newport Blvd. Address is 1951 Newport Blvd, phone 949-650-2999.

To get to the field from the TraveLodge, continue down Newport Blvd to Harbor, make a u-turn back north onto Highway 55 (Costa Mesa Freeway) about 4miles to I-405 South (San Diego Freeway) about 3 miles to Culver Drive exit, left onto Culver Drive about 3.3 miles to Walnut, right on Walnut about 0.4 miles to Irvine High School, 4321 Walnut Avenue. 

For directions directly to Irvine High School:

From I-5 South, take the Culver Drive Exit, right on Culver, left on Walnut.
