Spring Training:

April 4 & 10- Practice games at Crocker-Amazon.

March 28 & April 18- Sunday doubleheaders, 9&7inns, 11:30am, against the Solano Mudcats at TCUP Stadium (aka Steelhead Stadium) in Vacaville. Spring training games with one umpire.

March 28 Scores: SF 3(1st game), SF 3(2nd game), Mudcats scores withheld by the San Francisco Angels Wood Bat Baseball Team's Committee on Disinformation & Self-Respect.

April 18- the Committee has now relented and released scores of today's games: Angels 6 Mudcats 5, Angels 4 Mudcats 4 (tie).

 

Last summer, Solano Mudcats manager Shawn Scibek lost his sanity. And it's still missing!

 

Fairfield Tournament:

All games at Alan Witt Field

April 24- Saturday- 7pm- Solano Mudcats- Won 7-5

April 25- Sunday- 4pm- East Bay White Sox- Lost 1-0

May 1- Saturday- 4pm (after game at San Quentin) - San Jose Whacks- Won 7-6

May 2- Sunday- Final Four- Fairfield Indians- Lost 5-2

 

May 1 & May 15- Saturday- Meet at San Quentin Prison's East Gate at about 9am to play the San Quentin Giants inside their yard. Players must sign up in advance to get clearance. Games start about 10am. 

May 1- not enough players obtained clearance.

On May 12, remaining games of May 15 & August 14 were cancelled.

 

May 8-  Practice games against Oakland Expos- cancelled- our efforts to get our early field reservation requests handled promptly failed due to lack of priority by persons in authority at SF State.

May 16- Sunday- AABC Rural League doubleheader (9 & 7) vs. S.F. Giants. Big Rec Graham, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, 11am.

 

May 22- Saturday- AABC Rural League doubleheader (9 & 7) vs. Novato Knicks, 11am, Novato High School.

 

Marin County's Novato Knicks now think they're a stylin' team.

 

May 23- Sunday- AABC Rural League doubleheader (9 & 7) vs. Oakland Expos. Maloney Field, San Francisco State,  11am.

Expos boss Panos Lagos reviews the horror, the horror of losing the last 12 out of 13 games to the Angels

 

May 26 & 27-Wednesday & Thursday-  AABC Rural League game (9inn) each day vs. Oakland Expos. Maloney Field, SF State University, 5pm.

 

Memorial Day Weekend:

May 29- Saturday- AABC Rural League doubleheader (9 & 7) vs. S.F. Giants. Golden Gate Park, Big Rec Graham, San Francisco, 11am.

SF Giants are in desperate need of a few good men.

 

May 30 & 31- Sunday & Monday- Non-league vs Salinas Packers of NBC California Coastal League- 12noon, 9inns each day, Salinas Municipal Stadium. Sunday is Packers' home opener.               

         

June 2- Wednesday- AABC Rural League game (9inn) vs. Oakland Eagles. Game is at Diablo Valley College, 5pm. Eagles' manager Brant Cummings is now an assistant at DVC, and will have several drafted players.

 

June 4,5, 6- Friday, Saturday & Sunday-  early departure Friday for plane trip to Seattle, Washington. 4 non-league games.

Friday night- Wenatchee AppleSox's home opener, (9inn) 7pm

 

Saturday doubleheader- 5pm (9 & 7)- Wenatchee AppleSox of NBC Pacific International League. The AppleSox finished 5th in the NBC Summer World Series in Wichita last year. SF State pitching coach Tyler Kincaide is the AppleSox' pitching coach this year.

 

Sunday- Mt. Hood Cardinals at Mt. Hood JC, Portland, Oregon, 1pm (9inns). Flight home from Portland.

June 12- Saturday- AABC Rural League doubleheader (9&7) vs. San Mateo Dawgs. Golden Gate Park, Big Rec Graham, San Francisco, 11am.

San Mateo boss Lenny Vagt's hideous plans melted away when the Angels threw water on them.

June 13- Sunday- AABC Rural League doubleheader (9&7) vs. Solano Mudcats. Golden Gate Park, Big Rec Graham, San Francisco, 11am. The Mudcats and their ex-pros have merged with the Vacaville Dodgers and their talented younger players.

June 16- Wednesday- AABC Rural League game (9inn) vs. Oakland Eagles. Game is at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, 5pm.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It was slim pickens for the Oakland Eagles last year.  

 

June 18, 19 & 20- Non-league series vs. Humboldt Crabs, Arcata, California, 6 hours north on 101- Crabs were 43-5 last year, and the umpires made it easier for them starting about the 5th inning of every game.

 

Friday- 7pm (9inns)

Saturday- 7pm (9inns)

Sunday- 12noon doubleheader (9&7).

 

June 23- Wednesday- League All-Star Game

 

 

A Message from the SF Angels' Travel Director:

 

"Almost all the teams we face this year will be stronger than last year's versions. The Angels need solid veterans, talented younger players, with a well-balanced lineup and pitching staff, in order to achieve our goals of a winning record, victory in one of the NBC tournaments, success into the AABC regional. And world domination!"

June 25, 26 & 27-  Best of the West Tournament- $30,000 split among top three- sponsored by Maxim Yankees and their first baseman Jack Gifford, the CEO of Maxim, Inc.

Round robin tournament has a Southern bracket playing Friday and Saturday at San Luis Obispo & Santa Barbara. The Southern bracket includes the Santa Barbara Foresters and the San Luis Blues.

The Northern bracket plays at San Jose State's Blethen Field. This group includes the Maxim Yankees and the Aloha Knights. The Angels are currently placed in the Southern Bracket but this is subject to change. There is still an opening in the tournament.

Sunday championships are at Stanford Sunken Diamond.

The Santa Barbara Foresters finished 51-10 last year. They lost the NBC Summer World Series championship in Wichita to the Taiwanese National Team. The Maxim Yankees are the host team who won the 2003 Best of the West Tournament.  The Aloha Knights are a top-caliber NBC team in the Pacific International League.

 

June 29 & 30-Tuesday & Wednesday-  AABC Rural League game (9inn) each day vs. Oakland Eagles. Tuesday's game is at Diablo Valley College, 5pm, Wednesday's game is in San Francisco, 5pm.

The Angels visit beautiful Southern California the first two weekends of July.

Three NBC Regional Qualifying Tournaments:

July 1- 4 (San Diego- NBC tournament)- leave Thursday for Friday morning games.

 

So Cal Fire have a hell of a bad attitude, but at bottom they're still clowns.

July 7- Wed.-AABC Rural League game (9inn) vs. San Mateo Dawgs, Skyline College, San Bruno, 5pm.

July 8-11 (Santa Barbara- NBC tournament)- starts Thursday morning 10am against the Inland Empire Rockets at Pershing Park in Santa Barbara.

July 14- Wed.-AABC Rural League game (9inn) vs. San Mateo Dawgs, Skyline College, San Bruno, 5pm.

July 15- 18 (Portland, Oregon- NBC tournament)- All-American Invitational. $7,000 1st place prize (& NBC World Series berth). 12 teams, 4 teams in each pool.

7-inning pool play starts Thursday 5pm against the Seattle Studs. Game#2 10am Friday versus Mountain Home Gun Fighters. Game#3 Saturday 3pm vs. host Aloha Knights. Championships Sunday- 3 pool winners & 1 wild card.

Also participating in this tournament are the Humboldt Crabs, Kelown

 

a Falcons, and So-Called Fire.

July 20- Tuesday- non-league game (9inn) vs. Santa Barbara Foresters, Maloney Field, SF State, 5pm.

 

July 24- Saturday- Non-league doubleheader  vs. Redding Spirit. Golden Gate Park, Big Rec Graham, San Francisco, 12noon.

July 25- Sunday- Non-league doubleheader  vs. Monterey Wolf Pack. Golden Gate Park, Big Rec Graham, San Francisco, 11 am.

 

Angels Host the Sectionals:

July 29- August 1- AABC NorCal Sectional playoff tournament, San Francisco. Double elimination tournament starts Friday morning. The Angels compete in the tournament as the host team. 10am, three fields- SF State, Golden Gate Park Big Rec fields, possibly also USF. 

August 5 - 8- AABC California Regional playoff tournament- hosted by Fairfield Indians

August 12- 15- AABC World Series, Battle Creek, Michigan, or-

August 4- 14- Wichita, Kansas(NBC Summer World Series).

September 2- 6, Grand Forks International (GFI) money Tournament, British Columbia, Canada.

We have been invited.

We are attempting to work past certain issues that kept us out of Grand Forks last year.

 

 

 

 

 

AABC Rural League games need to be scheduled:

2 weekday games against the Fulminating Fumigators.

 

Approximately 70 total games:
April- 9  May- 16  June- 23  July- 20 August- 6+
